Pocky Review

Anime fans and weeaboos in general are already familiar with Pocky, but I'll describe it for the rest of you.  Pocky is a Japanese snack food that is basically a pretzel stick (minus the salt) dipped in chocolate.  There are other flavors available, such as almond or strawberry, but the most popular is chocolate.

Pocky are small, rather inconspicuous things.  Each one is around 6 inches long with the flavor (chocolate) covering all but an inch on one end (so you can hold it without getting chocolate on your fingers).  There are 22 in each box, and you can buy a box for around $1.  The serving size is listed as one full box (!), but I only ever eat one or two at a time.  This makes it a fairly low cal, low fat snack.

The taste is pretty darn good, all in all.  The dark chocolate pairs well with the cookie stick and is nicely balanced.  They aren't very big, but they are fun to eat.  They are generally cheap enough, and definitely taste good enough, that I'd recommend anyone give Pocky a try even if you aren't an anime fan or weeaboo.

I give chocolate Pocky a 9/10.  Or one ridiculously happy Tenma from School Rumble.  I wanted a screencap of Tenma eating Pocky from the show, but no one has one.  All I found was hentai ...
